EDINBURG – Maria Magdalena “Nena” Guajardo, 71, died Monday, April 3, 2017, at Edinburg Regional Medical Center.
Born in Comales, Tamaulipas, Mrs. Guajardo had lived in Edinburg since 1989 and was formerly of McAllen. She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in San Carlos.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jacinto Sanchez and Maria De La Luz Cabrera; two brothers, Antonio Sanchez and Humberto Rosales.
Mrs. Guajardo is survived by her husband, Eleazar Guajardo of Edinburg; six children, Luis A. (Janie) Guajardo, Fernando (Lupita) Guajardo, both of McAllen, Eleazar (Leyda) Guajardo Jr. of Pharr, Silvia (Servando) Ibarra, Magda (Armando Hinojosa) Guajardo of Edinburg, Miguel Guajardo of Houston; 17 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Alberto Sanchez of Pharr, Abel Sanchez of San Juan; and two sisters, Ernestina Gonzalez of Edinburg, Enriqueta Morato of San Juan.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
