Roberto Guerra, 87, entered eternal rest Sunday, August 15, 2021, at his residence in Edinburg.
Born in El Sauz, Texas, Mr. Guerra had lived in Edinburg since 1991 and was formerly of Rio Grande City.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Anastacia Guadalupe Guerra; a son, Juan Roberto Guerra Jr.; his parents, Rafael and Felicitas Guerra; and three siblings, Idolina Gonzales, Noe Guerra, Gregoria Gonzalez.
Mr. Guerra is survived by four children, Adrian (Sylvia) Guerra of Edinburg, Gilberto (Brenda) Guerra of Harlingen, Linda (Martin) Rivera of Round Rock, Rosa (Brian) Hunt of Edinburg; eight grandchildren, Juan Roberto Guerra III, Ronnie L. Guerra, Brianna Guerra, Adrian Alberto Guerra, Thalia Guerra, Deborah Rivera, Martin Rivera Jr., Emmanuel Rivera; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Belia Guerra of Rio Grande City; and a brother, Rafael Guerra Jr. of McAllen.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, August 16, 2021, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Guerra Family Cemetery in Rio Grande City.
Pallbearers will be Juan Roberto Guerra III, Adrian Alberto Guerra, Martin Rivera Jr., Emmanuel Rivera, Brian Hunt, and Gilberto Guerra.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
