SYLVIA S. GUERRA EDINBURG - Sylvia S. Guerra, 70, died Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen. Born in Rio Grande City, Mrs. Guerra had lived in Edinburg most of her life. She is preceded in death by her parents, Juan Diego and Antonia Saenz. Mrs. Guerra is survived by her husband, Gonzalo Guerra Jr., of Edinburg; two sons, Jaime Guerra, Ricardo (Jennifer) Guerra, both of Houston; two daughters, Melynda (Ruben) Vasquez, Rose Torres; a grandson, Ruben Vasquez Jr., all of Edinburg; and a brother, Juan Diego (Yolanda) Saenz, of La Grulla. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service today, June 2, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
