RUBEN GUERRERO
EDINBURG – Ruben Guerrero, 78, went home to our Lord Monday, December 10, 2018, at Amara Hospice in Edinburg.
Mr. Guerrero was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he served his country for 22 years. In 1961, he married the love of his life, Gloria. His faith in God and love for his family was his strength. Ruben enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing the accordion, and working on his ranch. He enjoyed volunteering and serving the community. Ruben’s sage advice, leadership, and charisma will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Juan Guerrero; his mother, Concepcion Garcia; stepfather, Andres Garcia; a brother, Ramiro Garcia; and a sister, Maria Evangelina Zuniga.
Mr. Guerrero is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Gloria Guerrero of Edinburg; two sons, Ruben (Michelle) Guerrero of Converse, TX, Andres (Yvonne) Guerrero of Edinburg; a daughter, Concepcion (Laita) Snapp of Poquoson, VA; three grandchildren; six siblings, Aurora Garcia, Lorenzo Garcia, San Juanita Yanez, Cristobal Garcia, Maria Elva Limon, and Andres Garcia, Jr.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Thursday, December 13, 2018, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, December 14, 2018, at San Juan Diego Church in Mission. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 93.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
