JOSE "PEPE" GUTIERREZ EDINBURG - Jose "Pepe" Gutierrez, 84, died Monday, April 28, 2014, at McAllen Heart Hospital. Mr. Gutierrez was born in Rio Hondo and had lived in Edinburg most of his life. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Maria and Juanita Gutierrez; and a sister, Estella G. Bowie. Mr. Gutierrez is survived by his wife, Elida Gutierrez of Edinburg; a son, Ernesto (Joyce) Mendoza of Mendota, IL; a daughter, Consuelo Miranda of San Antonio, TX; seven brothers, Frank Gutierrez, Robert "Beto" Gutierrez, both of Bishop, TX, Gilbert "Kido" Gutierrez of Fort Worth, TX, Manuel Gutierrez of Tomball, TX, Julian Gutierrez of Hurst, TX, Juan "Tito" Gutierrez of West Dundee, IL; two sisters, Virginia Gutierrez and Margarita Gutierrez, both of Bishop, TX; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2014, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
