SAN MANUEL - Jose Raul Gutierrez, 60, died Saturday, August 20, 2016, at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
Mr. Gutierrez was born in Edinburg and had lived in San Manuel all of his life. Jose worked at Choriza de San Manuel for many years.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jose Guadalupe Gutierrez, Sr.
Jose is survived by his wife, Alma Diana Gutierrez; three brothers, Jose Salvador Gutierrez, Jose Rogelio Gutierrez, Jose Guadalupe Gutierrez; his mother, Josefina Gutierrez; and a sister, Maria Teresa Morales.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, August 24, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place Thursday, August 25, 2016, at St. Anne's Catholic Church in San Manuel. Cremation will take place at Memorial Cremation Center in Edinburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
Pallbearers will be Jose Salvador Gutierrez, Jose Rogelio Gutierrez, Jose Guadalupe Gutierrez Jr., Juan Manuel Garza, Severo Jaime Garza, Catarino Rodriguez. Honorary pallbearers will be Aaron Gonzalez, Ynez Garcia, Juan Sepulveda, Susano Sepulveda.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
