ALAMO – Juan Gutierrez, 83, died August 17. 2016, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen.
Born in La Laja, Mexico, he had lived in Alamo for most of his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Apolonia Gonzalez and Juan Gutierrez; step-father, Ignacio Gonzalez; brother, Amadeo Gutierrez; step-sister, Lupita Asoca.
Mr. Gutierrez is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Silfida Gutierrez; two children, Juan Gutierrez, Jr., Melissa Barnett; four grandchildren, Jonathan and Jeremiah Brooks, Jinika Brianna Gutierrez, Edlee Alicia Renee Garcia.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service, August 19, 2016. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. August 20, 2016 at San Pablo United Methodist Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Alamo.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
