ANDRES GUZMAN EDINBURG – Andres Guzman, 53, died Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at McAllen Medical Center. Born in Edinburg, Mr. Guzman had lived there all of his life and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. He graduated from EHS in 1980. Mr. Guzman worked for the State Juvenile system for 12 years and was also a private investigator. He enjoyed playing and couching softball. He enjoyed helping others and donated money to charities such as Feed the Children and Veterans Affairs. He is preceded in death by his parents, Domitilo and Juanita Guzman. Mr. Guzman is survived by a son, Andrew Guzman; a daughter, Courtney Guzman; seven siblings, Tina (Ramiro) Diaz, Victor (Fina) Guzman, Yolanda (Robert) Andrade, Margaret (Juan) Jimenez, Roland (Soledad) Guzman, Delia (Jorge) Jasso, all of Edinburg, Ray Guzman of California; the mother of his children, Mary Villarreal; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Friday, June 5, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 12 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2015, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
