Harold Wayne Pursley, Jr.

Harold Wayne Pursley, Jr. was born in Edinburg, Texas, on March 4, 1954 and passed away at McAllen Heart Hospital in McAllen, Texas, on November 14, 2024. He was 70 years old. 

Harold was known for his unfailing good nature, his ability to talk to anyone about any subject, his friendship with the many waitresses in the many restaurants he frequented and called home, and he always had the ability to make someone laugh. He loved his family, guns, hunting, his pickup, and President Trump. 

Harold graduated from Edinburg High School and attended Pan American University. He was a licensed Water Well Driller and Pump Installer and was known throughout South Texas for his expertise and knowledge. He had many friends and collaborated with other Water Well Professionals on a number of projects. 

Harold’s parents were the late Harold W. Pursley, Sr, and Mildred O. Pursley. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Melody M. (Brad) Swinnea.

He leaves behind his wife of 47 years, Janet A. Pursley; daughter, Heather E. (Jesse) Axley; his favorite and only granddaughter, June Williamson; his brother and best friend, R. H. Pursley; his niece and nephew, Madeline Pursley and Allen Pursley; and his little poodle, Fancy. 

A viewing will be held at Memorial Funeral Home on Monday, November 17, 2024, from 5 to 8 p.m. On Tuesday, November 18, 2024, the chapel will open at 9 a.m. The funeral procession will depart at 1:30 p.m. with an escort to Highland Memorial Park Cemetery for a 2 p.m. graveside service. Pallbearers will be Frank Ryan Gonzalez, Frank Gonzalez, Tex Williamson, Jesse Axley, Allen Pursley, and Tim Arnold.

Harold’s family wishes to thank the many doctors and nurses at McAllen Heart Hospital who took such great care of him, and especially Dr. Lester Dyke, Dr. Luis Padula, and Dr. Ofsman Quintana.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
