TEOFILA BRISENO HAWRANIK
ALAMO - Our beloved Teofila Briseno Hawranik passed away Jan. 6, 2023, at the age of 93, born Jan. 8, 1929. Teofila went to be with the Lord peacefully, surrounded by her family and her caregivers at their family home in Edinburg.
Teofila was born in Donna, and was one of seven female siblings and three bothers. She was a licensed beautician and later in life she enjoyed serving as a hospital volunteer. She loved knitting, photography, garage shopping, playing the guitar and singing at church choir at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo.
She is preceded in death by both of her husbands, Charles Hawranik and Jose Hinojosa; parents, Cornelio Briseno and Maria Simona Marquez; three brothers, Pedro (Soledad+) Briseno, Francisco (Armandina+) Briseno, Zaragoza (Apolonia Nino) Briseno; four sisters, Antonia (Selestino+) Rodriguez, Maria Inez (Luis+) Vega, Enedina Briseno and Felipa Briseno.
Left to cherish her memory are her two beloved sisters, Estefana Briseno and Ernestina (Guadalupe+) Aguilar. She also leaves behind her beloved niece, Juanita Solis who cherished her company and respected and loved her as a second mother along with other numerous nieces and nephews and grandnephews who she loved very much.
Estefana and niece, Juanita Solis would like to extend special thanks to Father Rene Angel, Dr. Rene Vela, and the Hospice Staff from Vida de Paz for their support and guidance. The family also sends special thanks to caregivers, Maria del Carmen Villedas, San Juana Calderon, and family friend, Rose Marie Alaniz.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
