DANIEL HERNANDEZ, JR. PHARR – Daniel Hernández Jr., 64, went to be with our Lord on Monday, May 27, 2013, at his residence after a battle with cancer. Mr. Hernández was born in Pharr and had lived there all of his life. He was employed by PSJA ISD Maintenance Department for 27 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Mine Hernández; and a brother, Angel Hernández. They are now celebrating their reunion and heaven is now filled with Daniel’s jokes and laughter. Mr. Hernández is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Victoriana “Vicky” Flores Hernández; a daughter, Dennille Hernández, both of Pharr; three sisters, Gloria (Joe) Flores, of Chicago, Illinois, Gilda (†Oscar) Rodríguez, of Pharr, Sylvia (Jesse) López, of Fresno, Texas; a brother-in-law, Israel (María Luisa) Flores, of Pharr; and numerous nephews and nieces. Daniel had a gift of making others laugh and smile; he will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, May 29, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 30, 2013, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Pallbearers will be Israel Flores Jr., Oscar Rodríguez Jr., René Hernández, Alfredo Carrillo Jr., Jaime Garza and Tony Flores. Honorary pallbearers will be Israel Flores, Joe Carrillo, Tomás Arredondo and Alfonso Bravo. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
