EDINBURG - Francisco Hernandez, 73, died Saturday, September 17, 2011, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg.
Francisco was born in Mission and lived in Edinburg all of his life.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Lasara Hernandez; parents, Ramon and Cleofas Hernandez; a son, Francisco Hernandez Jr.; and a grandson, LCP Derek Hernandez.
Mr. Hernandez is survived by his wife Lydia R. Garza; eight children, Natalia (Raul Mendiola) Ramos, Janie (Juan) Molina, Israel (Cynthia) Hernandez, Martin Hernandez, Arnulfo (Rachel) Hernandez, Marcela Hernandez, Gene (Mary) Hernandez, Gilbert (Dee Dee) Hernandez, all of Edinburg; 32 grandchildren; 33 great- grandchildren; one brother; three sisters; numerous nieces and nephews; and 11 stepchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service today, September 19, 2011, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2011, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
