GUADALUPE “LA GUERA” HERNANDEZ
SAN JUAN – Guadalupe “La Guera” Hernandez, 90, died Thursday, September 23, 2010, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen.
Born in Montemorelos, Mexico, Mrs. Hernandez had lived in San Juan all her life and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Isabel “Cuas” Hernandez; and a grandson, Adolfo Flores.
Mrs. Hernandez is survived by ten children, Victoria (Armando) Vargas, Florentino (Juanita) Hernandez, Lupita Martinez, Juan Antonio Hernandez, Andres (Mary) Hernandez, Jesus (Nancy) Hernandez, Gilberto (Yolanda) Hernandez, and Martina Hernandez, all of San Juan, Juanita Garcia, of Lubbock, Texas, Alcadio (Mirtala) Hernandez, of Lorenzo, Texas; 39 grandchildren; 83 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary today, September 26, 2010, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 am Monday, September 27, 2010, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment will follow at San Juan Cemetery.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
