EDINBURG – Luis Hernandez, 63, died on Tuesday, August 24, 2010, at McAllen Heart Hospital.
Born in Edinburg, Texas, Mr. Hernandez had lived there all of his life and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg..
He is preceded in death by his father, Concepcion Hernandez; maternal grandmother, Brijida Martinez; a sister, Maria de Rosario Ramirez.
Mr. Hernandez is survived his wife, Alicia Hernandez of Edinburg; three children, Vanessa (Sam) Rico, Luis (Melissa) Hernandez III both of Edinburg and Keith Hernandez of San Antonio, Texas; three grandchildren; his mother, Benarda Hernandez of Edinburg; one brother, Raul Hernandez of Edinburg; eight sisters, Dolores Canales of McAllen, Martha Gonzalez, Maggie Hinojosa, Connie Hernandez and Ana Alvarez all of Edinburg, Alicia Salinas of Corpus Christi, Texas, Lupita Hernandez and Maricela Hernandez of San Antonio, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 p.m. rosary, today, August 25, 2010, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 26, 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 101 of Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
