MARIA GUADALUPE HERNANDEZ ALAMO – Maria Guadalupe Hernandez, 87, died Sunday, August 16, 2015, at San Juan Nursing Home. She was born in Mercedes and had lived in Alamo most of her life. Mrs. Hernandez is preceded in death by her husband, Odilon Hernandez, Sr.; three sons, Lorenzo, Simon and David Hernandez; parents, Santiaga and Doroteo Guzman. She is survived by 13 children, Odilon (Oralia) Hernandez, Jr., Julio (+Nelda) Hernandez, Pablo (Angie) Hernandez, Jose Angel Hernandez, Carolina (Simon) Escobedo, Yolanda (Rolando) Gamez, all of Alamo, Juan Hernandez, Sr. of Edinburg, Victor Hernandez of Twin Falls, Idaho, Alejandro (Lupita) Hernandez of Mission, Maria Guadalupe (Delfino) Aguillon of San Angelo, Texas, Oralia (Kevin) Gergen of Hazelton, Idaho, Carmen (Pablo) Mireles of Three Rivers, Texas, Graciela (Rey) Trevino of San Antonio, Texas; 55 grandchildren; 81 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Natalia (Pilar) Palomo of Alamo. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2015, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
