Rosie Hernandez

ROSIE HERNANDEZ EDINBURG - Rosie Hernandez, 49, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen. Born in Weslaco, Rosie was raised in La Villa, TX. She later moved to Edinburg where she worked at the Motor Vehicle Department for Hidalgo County. She is preceded in death by her mother, Jesusa S. Hernandez. Rosie is survived by her two daughters, Valerie Guerra of Edcouch and Ashley Guerra of Edinburg; her father, Miguel Hernandez, Sr. of La Villa; three brothers, Gilbert Hernandez of La Villa, Miguel (Esther) Hernandez, Jr. of Edinburg, Noel Hernandez of La Villa; a sister, Mary (George) Pina of Weslaco; numerous nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Rosie was a kind and loving woman. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile and sweet voice. Those who worked with her appreciated her strong work ethic and dedication to her job. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Friday, May 1, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2015, at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Edcouch. Cremation will take place at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
