VICENTE HERNANDEZ, JR. PHARR – Vicente Hernandez, Jr., 58, died Sunday, April 20, 2014, at University Hospital in San Antonio. Born in Lubbock, he had lived in Pharr most of his life. He is preceded in death by his mother, Maria De Jesus Molina Hernandez; three brothers, Ancelmo, Raul, and Ricardo Hernandez; two sisters, Olinda and baby Ana Maria Hernandez; two children, Carlos Vicente Hernandez and Christopher David Hernandez. Mr. Hernandez is survived by seven children, Yvette Hernandez of San Antonio, Elizabeth Hernandez of Garden Ridge, Irene Hernandez of San Juan, Carlos (Mary) Hernandez of Mandeville, LA. Vicente Hernandez III of Donna, Vanessa Tijerina-Hernandez of Edinburg, Cynthia Estella Hernandez of McAllen; father, Vicente Hernandez, Sr. of Pharr; 17 grandchildren; 10 siblings, Jose Jaime Hernandez, Maria Magdalena H. Ruiz, Armando Hernandez, Minerva H. Nava, Rigoberto Hernandez, Dora H. Zuniga, Roberto Hernandez, Ofelia Hernandez, Maryann H. Tovar, and Daniel Hernandez. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, April 23, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 24, 2014, at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
