ALAMO - Elia R. Herrera, 74, died Wednesday, September 14, 2011, at McAllen Heart Hospital.
Mrs. Herrera was born in Charco, Texas and lived in Alamo most of her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Juan Rodriguez and Lola Del Valle Rodriguez.
Mrs. Herrera is survived by a daughter, Diana (Dagoberto) Gonzalez, of Atlanta, Georgia; a son, Fernando (Aissa) Herrera, of Alamo; three grandchildren; three brothers, Rodolfo Rodriguez, Ramiro Rodriguez, both of Alamo, Rogelio Rodriguez, of Houston, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, September 16, 2011, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 12 noon Saturday, September 17, 2011, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
