EMITERIA "MITA" HERRERA
La Blanca - Emiteria "Mita" Herrera, 77, died Saturday, August 27, 2011, at McAllen Medical Center.
Mrs. Herrera had lived in La Blanca all of her life and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsa, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Alberto and Manuela Moreno; two sisters, Lala Olivarez, Gerarda Quintero; a brother, Porfirio Moreno; and a grandson, Jose Luis Molina Jr.
Mrs. Herrera is survived by her husband, Francisco Herrera, of La Blanca; twelve children, Guadalupe (Flor Estela) Herrera, of Edinburg, Tomas (Yolanda) Herrera, Yolanda (Santiago) Gonzalez, Dolores (Luis) Molina, Juan (Melissa) Herrera, all of La Blanca, Estela (Jesus) Mandujano, of Elsa, Esperanza "Hope" (Ramiro †) Perez, of Denton, Texas, Cristina (Lenny) Vela, of San Juan, Adela (Ernesto) Rangel, of Seguin, Texas, Jose Antonio (Marta) Herrera, of Mercedes, Luis (Ronda) Herrera, of Aubrey, Texas, Alfredo (Joanne) Herrera, of Austin, Texas; numerous grandchildren , great-grandchildren and great- great grandchildren; a brother, Manuel Moreno, of San Antonio, Texas; and a sister, Eufemia Rivas, of La Blanca.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary this evening, August 29, 2011, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 30, 2011, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsa. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna, Texas.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg, Texas.
