Gumaro Herrera

GUMARO HERRERA EDINBURG — Gumaro Herrera, 80, died Saturday, March 8, 2014, at Edinburg Regional Medical Center. Mr. Herrera was born in Edinburg and had lived there all of his life. He is preceded in death by a son, Reynaldo Herrera; and a brother, Ezekiel Herrera. Mr. Herrera is survived by six children, Gumaro Herrera Jr., Carmen I. (Henry) Magallan, George (Elisa) Herrera, all of Edinburg, Diana Herrera (Steven) Ortiz, Minerva (Rene) Alvarado, both of Houston, Cristina Herrera, of Oakland, California; a daughter-in-law, Dora L. Herrera, of Edinburg; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Concepcion De La Cruz, Dora Moreno, Sofia Castilla, all of Edinburg, Eudelia Vale, of Pharr, Hermelinda Romero, of McAllen; and a brother, Daniel Herrera, of Edinburg. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. eulogy Monday, March 10, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
