Arnold Joel Hinojosa, 72, passed away Monday, April 17, 2023, in Dallas, TX.
He was born on July 18, 1950, but as he told everyone who asked, he was 50 years old. He was born to his parents, Lucas and Natalia Hinojosa. Arnold was the youngest of four siblings. Arnold attended the University of Texas at Austin. Following his studies, he embarked on a 50-year career as a pharmacist. The bulk of his career was spent at Baylor University Medical Center. Most recently he worked at White Rock Medical Center.
In his free time, Arnold loved to travel and once took a bike trip across Europe, which he considered one of the highlights of his life. He also had a passion for exercise and could often be found at the gym, where he enjoyed spin class and boxing.
Arnold will be missed by his brother, sister, and his extended family who will always hold his memory close to their hearts. He will also be remembered fondly by his many work friends in Dallas, who he always considered to be family.
Arnold is preceded in death by his parents, Lucas and Natalia Hinojosa; older brother, Lucas Hinojosa Jr.; and nephew, Roy Pena Jr.
Mr. Hinojosa is survived by his brother, Romeo Hinojosa; sister, Noelia (+ Roy D.) Pena; sister-in-law, Sylvia Hinojosa; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews; his beloved cat, Thor; and lots of friends from the Dallas area, especially Mr. and Mrs. John Benda and family.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Monday, April 24, 2023, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at St. Anne Catholic Church in San Manuel. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission.
