ALAMO — Irene "Nene" Martinez, 50, died Saturday, March 1, 2025, at her residence in Alamo. 

Miss Martinez is survived by her parents, Juan Abel and Maria Amada Martinez; four siblings, Leticia (Carlos) Salazar, Liza Martinez, Eloisa (Gabriel Benavidez III) Martinez, Cynthia (John) Simonson; nieces and nephews, Miranda, Matthew, Anthony, Joseph, Juliana, Edward, Abi, Gabriel, Aaron, Sophia, Avah; and her great nieces and great nephews, Julian, Jordan, Jason, Angelina, Devani, Jeremey, and Matthew, Jr. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary, Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. 

Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan
