ISABEL “CHABELO” BELTRAN JR.
SAN JUAN- It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Isabel “Chabelo” Beltran Jr., who left this world on June 18, 2024, surrounded by family in Houston, Texas. Born on April 19, 1958, in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico, Isabel was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His life will be celebrated on Friday, June 21, from 4 to 8 pm in San Juan – the city where he raised his children.
Isabel, known for his adventurous spirit and remarkable life stories, was affectionately dubbed the "Mexican Forrest Gump" by his children, due to the larger-than-life stories from his travels across 49 states as a truck driver. He lived life to the fullest, embodying the roles of a hard worker, a risk-taker, and a devoted family man. His love for barbecues, music, and playful banter added a level of joy to family gatherings.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years: Martha Sandra Beltran; his children: Jessica Vielma, Abel Beltran, Jaime Beltran, Samantha Beltran, and Israel Beltran; as well as his grandchildren, Trevor Vielma, Marcus Vielma, Quentin Vielma, Nicolas Vielma, Ruth Beltran, and Aariyah Beltran, who all held a special place in his heart. His spontaneous visits and phone calls just to spend time with them will be deeply missed. He had a unique way of making each one of them feel extraordinarily loved.
Even in his final days, Isabel found joy in simple pleasures, like watching Astros baseball games and savoring his favorite meal, a Whataburger #1 all the way. His ability to make his family smile, even in his final days, showcased his resilient and joyous spirit.
Isabel's passing leaves a void in our hearts, but we take comfort in the countless memories and lessons he imparted. He is now at peace, reunited with his beloved mother, and free from pain. Though we grieve his loss, we honor his legacy and cherish the moments we shared.
