DOLORES V. JACKSON SAN JUAN - On Thursday July 5, 2013, Mrs. Dolores Jackson was called home to heaven. Mrs. Jackson died very peacefully close to the Lord and looked forward to her heavenly home. Dolores was born in Coneto de Comonfort, Durango, Mexico on April 30, 1916. God gave her 97 joyful years as a reward for being a good daughter, granddaughter, sister, wife, and most importantly a loving and devoted mother to her eight children who dearly loved her and will miss her presence very much. She is preceded in death by her parents, Presciliano Villanueva and Blasa Rocha; her brothers, Juan, Ricardo, Blas, and Antero Villanueva; her sisters, Socorro, Margarita, and Maurilia; grandson, Francisco Javier Jr.; her husband, Alberto Jackson Sr., who was the love of her life. One of the happiest moments of her life was when they married; they are now reunited in heaven. Mrs. Jackson is survived by her sons, Salvador (+Eloisa) Villanueva of Hidalgo, Francisco (+Lydia) Villanueva of California, Alberto Jackson Jr., and Juan Jose Jackson of San Juan, Nicholas Nathaniel Jackson of Corpus Christi, Texas, her grandson, who she brought up as her son; daughters, Josefina (Concepcion) Villamar of Houston, Texas, Alicia (+Moises) Flores of Pharr, Janie (Jerry) Samudio of Edinburg, and Graciela Jackson of San Juan; also a very special niece, Josefina Nevarez, who so lovingly tended to her aunt. Mrs. Jackson is also survived by 25 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Yuri Bermudez, her caregivers, Letty Solis, and her niece, Olda Canales and also to the staff of San Juan Nursing Home who so lovingly took care of our mother. Many thanks to Rio Grande Regional Hospital 2 west and special thanks to Daniel Schmitt R.N. for going above and beyond his call of duty. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary today, July 7, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, July 8, 2013, at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Lauro Alberto Munoz, Jamie Antoinette Breon, Moises Flores Jr., Hiram Flores, Victor Alberto Villamar, and Nicholas Nathaniel Jackson. Honorary pallbearers will be Marco Antonio Flores, Antero Villanueva, Dylan Jackson, Arthur Jackson, and Alberto Jackson III. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
