JAMES SPENCER JUNG

EDINBURG – James Spencer Jung, 77, passed away Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Solara Hospital in McAllen.

He was born September 27, 1946, in Fredericksburg, Texas.  Spencer and Susan owned their own business where he believed in hard work and worked until he passed.  While his girls grew up, Spencer instilled a love of hunting, fishing, and watching football. He passed this on to his grandchildren as well. He was also blessed that his sons-in-law loved the outdoors. Spencer would spend his weekends barbecuing for his family and his favorite EHS football players (his adopted sons). Spencer’s door was always open, and all were invited to eat and watch football.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Jung and Dorothy Whitewood; and father-in-law, Charles Well.

Mr. Jung is survived by his wife, Susan Wells Jung; three children, Michelle (Michael) Frazier, Ashley (Michael) Traylor, Andrea Shirah Hernandez; five grandchildren, Christian Jung, William Spencer Traylor, Landon Michael Traylor, Hunter Ray Flores, Tristan Jake Flores; sister, Kaye Jung; mother-in-law, Gertrude Wells; three sisters-in-law, Janice Kolberg, Cindy Wells, Cathy Sasser; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation will take place at Memorial Cremation Center, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg.
