Janet was born in Albion, Michigan, on December 7, 1954. She spent her early years in Michigan until 1992 when she relocated to McAllen, Texas, where she continued to touch the lives of those around her.
Janet is survived by her devoted husband, Glen Butters, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and cherished memories. Together, they created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unwavering support. Their bond was a testament to the enduring power of love and partnership.
As a dedicated mother, Janet took immense pride in nurturing and guiding her two sons, Darrick (Aurora) Butters and Ryan (Dora) Butters. She instilled in them values of kindness, perseverance, and compassion, leaving behind a legacy of strength and integrity that will continue to inspire them.
Janet found immense joy in her role as a grandmother to Yvonne Woytowich, Alyssa Butters, Natasha Butters, Ella Butters, and Saori Padilla. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, leaving them with cherished memories that will endure.
In addition to her immediate family, Janet leaves behind two sisters, Joann Hess and Jean Butters, a brother, Greg Shelters, and a wide circle of relatives, friends, and colleagues who will fondly remember her for her gentle spirit, quick wit, and generous heart. Her kindness knew no bounds, and her presence brightened the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Janet’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved her, but her memory will forever remain a source of comfort and solace. Though she may no longer walk beside us, her love will continue to guide us, and her spirit will live on in the countless lives she touched.
A celebration of Janet’s life will be held on June 22, 2024, at 10 am at Edinburg Memorial, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and share stories of her remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to COPD Foundation in Janet’s honor.
May Janet Butters rest in eternal peace, knowing she was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
