CRESENCIO JASSO EDINBURG - Cresencio Jasso, 82, died Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at Amara Hospice Inpatient Facility in Edinburg. Mr. Jasso lived in Edinburg all of his life and was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Edinburg. He is preceded in death by his parents, Eulalio and Apolonia Jasso; two brothers, Jose Angel Jasso and Jose C. Jasso. Cresencio is survived by his wife, Amalia"Molly" Jasso of Edinburg; a daughter, Cynthia (Christopher Darren Rotunno) Jasso of Washington, D.C.; a son, Bobby Jasso of Los Angeles, CA; a brother, Jose Reyes Jasso of Edinburg; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Cresencio co-founded Jasso’s Tortillas & Bakery with his parents and brothers in the late 1940s and served as President & CEO for 22 years before his retirement. He and his wife served as Lay Ministers of the Catholic Diocese of Brownsville, coordinating the marriage sponsor couples program for many years. On November 25, Cresencio and Molly marked their 54th wedding anniversary with close family, friends, and Amara staff. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary today, November 29, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 9 a.m. Saturday, November 30, 2013, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
