Juanita Jasso, 87, died Friday, October 20, 2017, at her residence in Edinburg.
Mrs. Jasso was born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico and had lived in Edinburg most of her life. She was an active member of Valley interfaith and the vice-president of The Guadalupanas at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Martin Salas Jasso; a son, Martin Jasso Jr.; her parents, Encarnacion and Antonia Davila; and a brother, Ramon Davila.
Juanita is survived by four children, Silveria (†Carlos) Ramos, Tereso (Yolanda) Jasso, Antonia (†Domingo) Mata, Jorge (Delia) Jasso, all of Edinburg; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and four siblings, Jesus (Nina) Davila of Harlingen, Filomeno (Rosa) Davila of Edinburg, Carmela (Juan) Lerma of California, Sabino (†Juanita) Davila of Arizona.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Sunday, October 22, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, October 23, 2017, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
