BEATRIZ S. “NENA” JIMENEZ SAN JUAN — Beatriz S. “Nena” Jimenez, 88, of San Juan, peacefully left this earth to join in eternal rest the love of her life, Toribio, on October 10, 2013. Beatriz married her sweetheart, Toribio Jimenez, in 1940, and they had seven children. A loving wife, homemaker, mom, grandmother and great-grandmother, she enjoyed a lifetime filled with love and pride in her family’s accomplishments and achievements. A member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in San Juan, Beatriz was very active in her community. Throughout her life, she demonstrated a strength and depth of character that enriched the lives of many. A gentle soul, Beatriz had an abundance of joy in her heart and unlimited supply of soothing comfort for those in need. She provided a happy home for her family, friends and neighbors. The lives she touched over the years are countless and her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren loved her immensely. Her passing leaves an immeasurable sorrow in our hearts; she will be forever missed. Beatriz is preceded in death by her husband, Toribio Jimenez; a grandson, Kevin Thornton; her parents, Santiago and Maria De La Luz Suarez; three brothers, Santiago, Salomon and Samuel Suarez; two sisters, Rafaela Contreras and Ester Alaniz. Beatriz leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her seven children, Viola (Valdemar) Guerra of Alamo, Texas, Romeo (Alicia) Jimenez of San Juan, Texas, Arnoldo (+Rosario) Jimenez of Grand Prairie, Texas, Ruben (Kathy) Jimenez of Ocala, Florida, Artemio (Alexis) Jimenez of Belleville, Michigan, Odilia (Kenneth) Thornton, of Waco, Texas and Bobby Jimenez of San Juan, Texas; 13 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, October 13, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, October 14, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in McAllen. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
