RAMON JIMENEZ, SR.
EDINBURG - Ramon Jimenez Sr., 81, died Monday, January 3, 2011, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg.
Born in Los Ebanos, Mr. Jimenez had lived in Edinburg most of his life and was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in San Carlos. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Korean Conflict.
He is preceded in death by two brothers, Jose Jimenez and Jesus Jimenez; and three sisters, Maria Garza, Catarina Rodriguez and Enriqueta Perez.
Mr. Jimenez is survived by his wife, Guadalupe D. Jimenez, of Edinburg; five children, Rodolfo (Anna) Jimenez, Ramon (Martina) Jimenez Jr., Romeo Jimenez, Dora (Enrique) Gonzalez, all of Edinburg, Rolando Jimenez, of San Antonio, Texas; 11 grandchildren; two brothers, Daniel Jimenez, of Plano, Texas, Leonel Jimenez, of Edinburg; and four sisters, Guadalupe Jimenez, of Tioga, Texas, Maria Elena Oranday, of Collinsville, Texas, Oralia Ledesma, of Frisco, Texas and Carmen Morales, of Pasco, Washington.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary today, January 5, 2011, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 am Thursday, January 6, 2011, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in San Carlos. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 101 of Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
