DOUGLAS EUGENE JOHNSON EDINBURG - Douglas Eugene Johnson, 68, died Sunday, January 25, 2015, at his residence in Edinburg. Mr. Johnson was born on October 9, 1946 to Odin and Olive (Kenner) Johnson in Devils Lake, ND. After graduating high school in 1964, Douglas attended North Dakota State School of Science and completed a degree in engineering in 1966. He also served in the ND Army National Guard from 1964 to 1970. He married Dana (Ulness) on April6, 1968. Doug and his family moved to Minot, ND in 1976. He retired in 2005 from Souris River Telephone (SRT) after 36 years of service. Doug and his wife Dana moved to Edinburg, TX in 2007 where they enjoyed golfing and making many new friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Odin; and his in-laws, Doris and Clarence Ulness. Douglas is survived by his wife of 46 years, Dana Colleen Johnson; two children, Jodi Lynn (Stephen) Connell and Steven (Nicole) Johnson; four grandchildren, Kaily Appelt, Briahnna Johnson, Caden Appelt, Evan Johnson; two great-grandchildren, Reed and Jaylin; his mother, Olive Kenner Johnson; a sister, Judy (Ron) Pinkney; a brother, Bruce (Barb) Johnson; numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a memorial service at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 29, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Another memorial service will be held in Minot, ND at a later date. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
