EDINBURG – Jorge Luis Lopez, 67, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2024, in Edinburg, TX.

Jorge was a devoted father and husband who cherished every moment he spent with his four grandchildren. He was a hard worker and had an unwavering commitment to providing for his loved ones. Jorge was a constant, steadfast presence – a shoulder to lean on, the giver of advice, the first call – to his daughters, wife and family. 

Founded in 1994, he leaves behind a 30-year business, U.S. 281 Truck and Trailer Services. Through his business he was able to give back to the community in countless ways and touching countless lives. 

Now that he is gone from this world, his legacy lives on through the indelible mark he left on the lives of all who were fortunate enough to have known him. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Jesus Lopez Sr. and Antonia Espericueta Lopez; five siblings, Jaime Miguel Lopez, Juan Lopez, Jesus Lopez Jr., Hilda Garcia, and Paulita Capetillo. 

Mr. Lopez is survived by his wife, Llolanda Lopez, two daughters, Gabriela (Mario Jr.) Pena, Georgina (Nathan) Garza; four grandchildren, Adrian Garza, Noah Garza, Emma Lee Pena, Nehemiah Garza; seven siblings, Jose Manuel Lopez, Joel Lopez, Odilia Ozuna, Concepcion Lopez, Yolanda Lopez, Antonia Lopez, and Maria Teresa Respondek. 

Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. (talk or rosary) Sunday, September 8, 2024, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, September 9, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. 

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
