JULIETA P. SOLIZ

EDINBURG – Julieta P. Soliz, 78, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg.

Julieta devoted the majority of her life as an educator.  She enjoyed painting, sewing, jewelry making, gardening, and socializing with various groups within her local area.  

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Gilberto G. Soliz and Raul Cantu; her parents, Candido and Elvia Palomarez; five siblings, Candido (Elma) Palomarez Jr., Petra (David) Flores, Reymundo Palomarez, Oscar Palomarez; and Norma Palomarez.

Mrs. Soliz is survived by her three children, Raul (Regina) Cantu Jr., Rigoberto Cantu, Elvia Veronica (Kenneth) Herman; eight grandchildren, Krista Lauren Cantu, Raul DeJudas (Elizabeth) Cantu III, Gabriela Xochitl Soliz, Jaydon A. Herman, Nicolas J. Cantu, Olivia M. Cantu, Diego E. Cantu, Ethan H. Cantu; four great-grandchildren, Kale H. Rader, Leighton M. Rader, Raul DeJudas Cantu IV, Rowen L. Cantu; five siblings, Jorge (Nancy) Palomarez, Elvia (Manuel) Flores, Yolanda Palomarez, Mario (Norma) Palomarez, and Javier Palomarez. 

Funeral mass will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 9, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg.  Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Friday, June 9, 2023, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. 

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
