AMPARO LABRADOR MCALLEN - Amparo Labrador, 85, died Sunday, September 7, 2014, at Amara Hospice in Edinburg,. Born in the Philippines, Mrs. Labrador had lived in McAllen most of her life. She is preceded in death by her husband, Eliezar Labrador; a brother, Claudio Obsiana; and two sisters, Ruth Benedicto and Alicia Diogenes. Amparo is survived by five children, Cynthia (Ben) De Chavez of Houston, TX, Flor (Jessie) Morales of the Philippines, Edna (Sony) Carino of Houston, TX, Eleanor Labrador of Canada, Darlene (Pops) Zambales of McAllen; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three siblings, Betty Andren, Angles Delejero, and Julio Obsiana, all of the Philippines. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7:30 p.m. celebration of life Saturday, September 13, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 9 a.m. Sunday, September 14, 2014, at Seventh-day Adventist Church, 602 W. Wisconsin Rd. in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
