Francisco Lara, Jr.

Francisco Lara, Jr., 59, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at Solara Specialty Hospital in McAllen.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Rebecca Lara.
Frank married his high school sweetheart, Melinda Leal Lara in July, 1989. Frank and Melinda proudly raised their daughter, Melanie in San Juan. Frank's pride and joy was his loving wife and daughter. He so proudly saw Melanie accomplish her academic goals and become the professional young lady she is today. Frank was a lifelong Catholic and member at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He loved hosting pool parties and barbeques at his family home, always cheering on his beloved Dallas Cowboys. His favorite hobby was going fishing at South Padre Island with family and friends. He will always be remembered as a hardworking, caring, and compassionate man that always placed family first. He was loved and respected as a husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, and will be dearly missed. Celebrating Frank's life on Earth are his loving wife, Melinda, and daughter, Melanie (Oscar, Jr.) Lopez of San Juan. Frank is also survived by his father, Francisco Lara Sr. of McAllen, seven siblings, Belinda (Marce) Elizalde, Felix (Nora) Lara, both of Alamo, Fernando (Melissa) Lara of Houston, Fidencio (Martha) Lara of Dallas, Fidel (Deborah) Lara, Fabian (Hilda) Lara, and Fermin (Araceli) Lara, all of McAllen.
In loving concern for everyone's health and protection, Frank's rosary will be live-streamed on Thursday, March 11, 2021, at 6 p.m. The event link is https://evt.live/rosaryforfranciscolarajr.
Interment will take place at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2021, at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
The family gratefully appreciates the many prayers, words of kindness, and love that have been shared with us.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
