LUCIA ESCOBAR LARA
PHARR - Lucia Lara entered eternal rest on Sunday, October 2, 2016, at her residence in Pharr. Lucia was born in Marlin, Texas to Alfredo Escobar and Esperanza Vasquez. She enjoyed cooking, being at and enjoying family events. She is preceded in death by her husband, Fidel Salas Lara.
Lucia is survived by four daughters, Emma Lara of Pharr, Mary (David) Casas of Mission, Dolores (Ben) Zamora of Pharr and Yvonne (Rene) Silguero of McAllen; three sons, Agustin Lara of Alamo, Fidel (Cris) Lara Jr, of Minnesota, Alberto Lara of Austin; twelve grandchildren, Belinda Garcia of San Juan, Mario Lara of Arizona, Ricardo Garza of McAllen, Fidel David Garza of Mission, Eric Lara, Sammy Long both of Minnesota, Lucci Zamora of Pharr, Daniel Zamora of San Antonio, Eli Zamora of Edinburg, Nicolas Lara of San Antonio, Marcos Lara of Austin and Gabriel Lara of Houston; 29 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Alfredo Escobar of Michigan, a sister, Porfiria Morales of San Antonio; a sister-in-law, Hilaria Aguirre of Florida, and a brother-in-law, Pedro Lara of Dallas; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Tuesday, October 4, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
