ALAMO – Grace Laraine Willison, 73, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Doctor’s Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William J. Sr. and Nell Wyrick; a brother, Willis Wyrick; two sisters, Wineford Wyrick, Wanda Taylor.
Laraine was known for being the most sweetest and loving person you ever met. She became “Mom” and “Granny Grace” to many that she wasn’t even related to, but loved them as if they were. Laraine grew up in Tulia, TX. She moved to San Antonio and then McAllen, and finally to Alamo. She worked at Broadway Hardware as a gift wrapper and clerk for many years. She then worked at El Periorico with family whom she adored. She was a member of Palm Valley Church in Mission. Laraine lived a life of love…giving it freely as our Heavenly Father does. She loved and adored her children and grandchildren, always thinking of them and their wellbeing. She enjoyed traveling whenever she could, connecting with friends and family on Facebook, cooking and baking her famous brownies. Laraine was a strong women, a humble woman, and she loved Jesus Christ and hearing His work. She will be deeply and incredibly missed by all who knew her.
Grace is survived by her three children, Cindy (Rigo) Rosas of Edinburg, Ronald Willison of Alamo, Raymond (Julie) Willison Jr. of Austin; seven grandchildren, Savannah Rosas, Amber Rosas, Ronald Willison, Ryan Willison, Megan Willison, Raymond Willison, Rothann Willison; three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service Friday, July 7, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Cremation will take place at Memorial Cremation Center in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
