JUAN BENAVIDES LEAL EDINBURG - Juan Benavides Leal, 65, died Friday, August 3, 2012, at Comfort House in Mcallen. Born in McAllen, Juan lived in Edinburg all of his life. He served in Vietnam War and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Leal worked at U.S. Postal Service for 26 years. He is preceded in death by his father, Nicolas Leal. Juan is survived by his wife of 43 years, Norma Linda Prado Leal; a son, Isaac (GeorgeAnna) Leal; two grandchildren, Skyelan Lynette Leal and Shawdee Darshell Leal; mother, Bernadina Leal; four brothers, Pedro (Rosa)Leal, Oscar (Hilda) Leal, Gilberto Leal, and Joe (Mary) Leal; five sisters, Isaura (Milo) Cisneros, Norma (Jaime) Casares, Viola (Raul) Hinojosa, Hortencia Leal, and Rachel Flores, all of Edinburg. Visitation will be held 3 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, August 6, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 9 a.m., Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission. Military Honors will be conducted by VFW Post 8788 of McAllen. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
