MARTHA LEAL ALAMO – Martha Leal, 42, died Thursday, September 12, 2013, at St. Luke’s Hospital in San Antonio. Born in Fremont, Ohio Martha had lived in Alamo for three years and was formerly from Pharr. Martha will always be remembered for her kindness and especially her smile. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Ramona and Antonio Esparza; and paternal grandparents, Ramona and Moises Leal. Martha is survived by her husband, Lauro Antonio Sivaja; three children, Diego Antonio Sivaja, Monica Itzel Ramirez, Mariana Odalys Ramirez, all of Alamo; her parents, Marcos R. and Micaela Leal; a brother, Alejandro (Dalia) Leal, all of Pharr; and three sisters, Olivia (Rey) Gutierrez, of Schertz, Texas, Rosa Maria (Greg) Rakay, of Pharr, and Sylvia (Victor) Castañon, of San Antonio, Texas. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, September 15, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, September 16, 2013, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen. Pallbearers will be Diego Antonio Sivaja, Alejandro Marcos Leal, Gabriel Antonio Leal, David Kenneth Rakay, Reynaldo Gutierrez, Jr. and Ramiro Castillo, Jr. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
