PERLITA “LITA” MONTEMAYOR DE LEON
PHARR – Perlita “Lita” Montemayor De Leon, 49, died Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg.
She was born in McAllen and had lived in Pharr since 1980. She was employed as Vice President of Training and Development by Lone Star National Bank.
Lita is survived by a son, Ruben James De Leon; a nephew who she raised, Craig Dustin Montemayor; and her parents, Juan Jr. and Jesusita Montemayor, all of Pharr; three brothers, Ron (Jennifer) Montemayor, John (Iris) Montemayor III, Carlos (Ludy) Montemayor, all of McAllen; nephews and nieces, Jonathon, Joshua, Jacob, John IV, Cassie, Irasema, Jose Angel and Orlando; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Lita cared dearly for all of those close to her. Colleagues, employees, friends and family alike recall her generosity and kindness, as well as her willingness to put others before herself. She was truly a selfless person, pouring all of herself and her efforts into caring for her parents. However, she always said that her greatest accomplishment was raising her son, who will graduate from Baylor in May.
Funeral service will be at 1 pm today, April 3, 2010, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in McAllen. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
