Lilia Guerra, 95, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2023, at her residence in Raymondville.
Lilia’s unwavering faith in Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior was a guiding light in her life, leaving a profound impact on those around her.
She graduated from Edinburg High School and North Texas State College. Lilia devoted 39 years teaching PK through third grade.
She had an amazing personality and was loved by many. Lilia was a member of First Assembly of God in McAllen, and had a deep love for the Primetimers group at the church. She had a passion for missions and would make quilts for missionaries as they visited the church.
Lilia leaves behind cherished memories that will be treasured by those fortunate enough to have known her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Leonel Guerra; and four siblings, Jose Mosqueda, David Mosqueda, Robert Mosqueda, and Frances Castaneda.
Mrs. Guerra is survived by her daughter, Sylvia (Jeff) Hembree; and a sister, Herminia Calles.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg. Dismissal from Memorial Funeral Home will take place at 12 p.m. Friday, June 23, 2023. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
