BEVERLY LOGES ALAMO - Beverly Loges, precious servant of the Lord Jesus went to her eternal rest May 21, 2012. She was born in Lawler, Iowa on July 24, 1933. As a young woman, she served in the armed services. Afterwards she worked with children with disabilities at the Devereux Foundation in Victoria Texas. Beverly became a member of Bethany Community, an outreach ministry, where she served in Victoria, Texas as a counselor to young people struggling with drug addiction. She also served at Bethany House, a rehab house for girls from 1972-1975. In 1975 she came to Corpus Christi with Bethany Outreach serving and working in her field of expertise as a counselor at MHMR. In 1980, she moved to the Rio Grande Valley feeling a distinctive call from the Lord to continue working with Bethany Outreach in its ministry to those in need. She taught high school classes for 20 years at Bethany Christian School, a tuition free Christian educational facility. From the time she came to the Valley in 1980 until early last year, she served diligently as the treasurer-secretary for The Church at Bethany in Alamo, TX. She is preceded in death by her two daughters, Jodi and Michelle. She is survived by her brother, Jim Young and sisters, Maxine Dothager and Kay Bales. She will always be remembered as a tireless worker, a faithful community member, an outreach worker, a teacher, a friend to so many and an inspiration as a precious servant of the Lord. Her communal and church family will all greatly miss her. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 24 at The Church at Bethany, 1520 S. Alamo Rd, Alamo, TX. Interment will follow at San Juan Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
