MARIA S. LONGORIA
EDINBURG – Maria S. Longoria, 96, died Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg.
Mrs. Longoria was born in Edinburg and had lived there most of her life. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lucas Longoria; a son, Humberto Longoria; her parents, Pedro and Tomasa Sanchez; three brothers, H.E. Sanchez, Jesus Sanchez and Pedro Sanchez; four sisters, Natividad Villarreal, Flavia Cantu, Guadalupe Valdez and Benita Galvan.
Mrs. Longoria is survived by three children, Leo (Mary) Longoria and Yolanda (Pete) Vasquez, both of Edinburg, Thelma (Hector) Salinas, of Corpus Christi, Texas; ten grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; a brother, Amadeo Sanchez, of Edinburg; and two sisters, Elia Rodriguez, of Mission and Alicia Cantu, of Corpus Christi, Texas.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary today, November 27, 2009, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton, in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 11 am Saturday, November 28, 2009, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
