AUSTIN, TX - Amalia Ayala Lopez, 85, died Tuesday, August 31, 2010.
Born in McAllen, Mrs. Lopez was formerly of Alvin, Texas and had lived in Austin for three years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Leopoldo P. Lopez; a son, Leopoldo A. Lopez; her parents, Pedro Ayala and Josefa Garcia Ayala; and three sisters, Adela Cavazos, Anita Longoria and Antonia Garcia.
Mrs. Lopez is survived by a son, Fernando Lopez of Del Valle, Texas; two daughters, Otila Estrada of Penitas, Margarita Villanueva of Austin, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 17; great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Pedro Ayala of New Braunfels, Texas, Miguel Ayala, Miguel Ayala, Jr., both of Lodi, California; and three sisters, Porfiria Carrales of San Antonio, Texas, Adelina Guerrero of Lockney, Texas and Modesta Lopez of McAllen.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm,, with a 7 pm rosary, Friday, October 1, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. A memorial service will be held at 10 am, Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment of cremated remains will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Alamo.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
