Proverbs 31:29 PHARR – Angelita “Angie” Lopez, 73, went home to her Heavenly Father on Monday, July 16, 2012, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen. Angelita was born in Pharr on August 2, 1938, to Anastacio and Blasa Briones Lopez. She lived in Pharr all of her life and was a member of St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Pharr. She is preceded in death by her father, Anastacio Lopez; her mother, Blasa Briones Castaneda; stepfather, Ramon Castaneda; and a sister, Maria “Nena” Galvan. She is survived by eight brothers, Ismael (Irene) Lopez of Casa Grande, Arizona, Ruben (Carolina) Lopez of Pharr, Raul (Oralia) Lopez of Bakersfield, California, Eulalio (Beatrice) Lopez, Julian (Juanita) Lopez both of San Juan, Ramiro (Irene) Lopez of Edinburg, Rolando (Maryann) Castaneda of San Antonio, Texas, and Alfredo (Concha) Castaneda of La Mesa, Texas. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary, today, July 19, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 20, 2012, at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Guadalupe Cemetery in Pharr. Pallbearers will be her nephews, Julian Lopez, Jr., Luis Xavier Galvan, Ruben Lopez, Jr., Fernando Lopez, Marcos Lopez, and Omar Castaneda. Honorary pallbearers will be Omar Jacob Martinez, Rey Ramirez and Matthew Vargas. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her and loved her. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
