CORINA SALINAS LOPEZ
PHARR - Corina Salinas Lopez, 74, died Monday, January 10, 2011, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen.
Mrs. Lopez was born in McAllen and had lived in Pharr all of her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Oliveros Salinas and Elvira Garza Salinas; a grandson, Edgar Ramos; and a great-grandson, Nathan I. Enriquez.
Mrs. Lopez is survived by seven children, Sylvia Benavidez Gregory, of Houston, Texas, Sandra Benavidez Garza, Oliver Benavidez, both of Dallas, Texas, Gabriel (Diana) Benavidez Jr., Rudy (Blanca) Benavidez, Elvira "Bita" (Rene) Molina, Corina Benavidez Garza, all of Pharr; 19 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Luis Lucas (Mary) Lopez, of Dallas, Texas; a sister, Maria (Geronimo) Del Angel, of Pharr; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary today, January 11, 2011, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 am Wednesday, January 12, 2011, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Luis Bay and staff for their continuous care and support.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
