DORA V. LOPEZ
EDINBURG - Dora V. Lopez, 84, died Thursday, May 12, 2011 at McAllen Heart Hospital.
Born in El Desierto Ranch, Texas, Mrs. Lopez had lived in Edinburg all of her life and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Leandro M. Lopez; a son, Leandro Lopez, Jr.; four brothers, Cirilo Villarreal, Baltazar Villarreal, Eleuterio Villarreal, Jr., Antonio Villarreal; and two sisters, Aurora V. Medina and Anita V. Ochoa.
Mrs. Lopez is survived by five children, Salome V. (Guadalupe) Lopez, Diana Lopez, Susana Lopez Tijerina, all of Edinburg, Ricardo V. (Elizabeth C.) Lopez of Katy, Texas, Jaime V. Lopez of Beaverton, Oregon; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Sara V. Hernandez, Guadalupe V. Mendoza and Irene V. Alaniz, all of Edinburg.
Dora was beloved by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and her brothers and sisters and her friends. She was a strong, independent and kind hearted woman who extended her hand to anyone in need. Dora will be greatly missed.
Private family visitation will be held from 8 to 9:30 a.m., Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
