SAN JUAN - Elvia M. Lopez, 61, died Monday, December 28, 2009 at McAllen Medical Center.
Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, Mrs. Lopez was formerly of McAllen and had lived in San Juan for the past three years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jose G. Lopez; her parents, Guillermo and Guadalupe Maldonado; and three brothers, Adan Maldonado, Raul Maldonado and Guillermo Maldonado.
Mrs. Lopez is survived by three children, Jose G. Lopez, Jr. of Pharr, Julissa G. Lopez of San Juan and Jessica G. Lopez of Alamo; six grandchildren; and four sisters, Elma Maldonado, Irma Perez, both of McAllen, Olga Alcantar of Pharr and Eva Garcia of San Juan.
Visitation will begin at 8 am, followed by a 10 am funeral service today, December 31, 2009, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in San Juan. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
