FERNANDO CANTU LOPEZ ALAMO — Fernando Cantu Lopez, 63, died Monday, November 12, 2012, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen. Born in Mexico, he had lived in Alamo since 1989. Mr. Cantu is survived by his wife, Alicia Cantu; a son, Fernando (Aracely) Cantu Jr.; two grandsons, Fernando Cantu III, Joshua Samuel Cantu, all of Alamo; his mother, Aurora Lopez vda. de Cantu, of McAllen; three sisters, Aurora Cantu, Gladys Cantu, both of McAllen, Elizabeth Cantu, of Indiana; and three brothers, Margarito Cantu, of Ohio, Jose Luis Cantu, of Alamo, Sergio Martinez, of Penitas. Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service today, November 14, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 15, 2012, at St. John Lutheran Church in San Juan. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
