McALLEN - Josefina "Josie" Lopez, 59, died Monday, November 2, 2009 at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
Born in Pharr, Ms. Lopez had lived in McAllen for the past 28 years and was a member of Templo Bethel in Pharr.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Pilar and Juana Ramirez; and a brother, Ricardo Ramirez.
Ms. Lopez is survived by three children, Jaime (Luisa) Solis of Pharr, Jana Rebecca Lopez and Judy Ann Lopez, both of McAllen; three grandchildren, Ashley Denise, Jaimito and Klarissa Solis; a great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Martinez; numerous nieces and nephews; two brothers, Jesus Ramirez of San Juan, Alfredo Ramirez of Pharr; and two sisters, Aurora Garza and San Juanita Ramirez, both of Pharr.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service, today, November 5, 2009 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Friday, November 6, 2009 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
